Duties:

  • Execute the RCS summer program curriculum as a member of the team under the direction of the summer program administrator.
  • Monitor and provide care for children ages 3-11.
  • Organize, set up, utilize and stow rooms and equipment for the summer program.
  • Communicate with parents regarding their children, schedules, services, etc.
  • Effectively manage the students and facilities to provide a safe environment for learning.
  • Work to design and schedule activities.
  • Follow the protocol and procedures in the RCS faculty and early education handbooks.
  • Be on time and responsible.
  • Represent RCS with integrity and character.

Timeframe:

  • Flexible scheduling to be determined.
  • Begin work with training on June 9, 2017.
  • Summer program ends on August 18, 2017.

Duties Include:

  • Preparing children for kindergarten by introducing concepts they will explore further in kindergarten and elementary school.
  • Working with children in groups or one on one, depending on the needs of children and the subject matter.
  • Aid in planning and carrying out a curriculum that targets different areas of child development, such as language, motor, and social skills.
  • Working under the direction of an early education director and as a part of the early education team.
  • Organizing activities so children can learn about the world, explore interests, and develop talents.
  • Developing schedules and routines to ensure children have enough physical activity, rest, and playtime.
  • Watching for signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring problems to the attention of supervisor and parents.
  • Keeping records of the students’ progress, routines, and interests, and keeping parents informed about their child’s development.
  • Nurturing a growing relationship with God in every child by praying with them, teaching them about God and instructing them from Scripture.
  • Representing Rhema Christian School in exemplary character.

Purpose: The Cafeteria Worker will be directly responsible for preparing and serving lunch to the students at Rhema Christian School.

Hours: Shifts are 10am - 1pm on Monday through Friday. Shifts are divided between multiple cafeteria workers.  Position runs concurrently with the school year (Sept-May)

Report To: Director of Administration

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee all aspects of the Lunch Program at Rhema Christian School
  • Take meal counts through Order Lunches (our ordering platform) and input balance credits or debits to parent accounts within the tool.
  • Prepare meals based on approved standardized recipes, and portion foods according to Federal and State guidelines.
  • Produce adequate quantities of product and complete daily production reports while being sensitive to not over-producing product (waste)
  • Put into operation accommodations for children with special dietary needs.
  • Follow safe and sanitary food handling procedures at all times.
  • Working with administration to ensure that food service equipment is maintained to meet the needs of the operation, with budgetary guidelines.
  • Implement and monitor safety policies and procedures.
  • Operate within the established budget.

Qualifications:

  • Food service training and experience.
  • Ability to obtain Food Service and Sanitation certification.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English to understand directions and communicate with students and staff.
  • Ability to physically move about the cafeteria and kitchen.
  • Ability to repetitively lift 20 pounds.
  • Ability to make decisions in accordance with established procedures.

 

Job Type: Part-time

 

Required experience: Food Service: 1 year

 

Compensation:

The role pays between $8.50 and $11.00 per hour depending on experience and willingness to do administrative tasks.  For current Rhema families a tuition discount is offered to families who work a certain number of hours.
