I grew up in a Christian bi-lingual home where God was always at the forefront. I’m so glad I took my grandmother’s advice to continue my foreign language studies all through school. She thought I might be called to teach one day, and she was right! I am honored to be at the Christ-centered school where I can teach children to glorify God and to become better servants to Him by learning a foreign language.

Spanish is taught to children in Grades K-8.  We do a variety of kinesthetic activities to internalize our lessons such as: singing, rhyming, acting, partner work, and playing games.

While God is integrated in our lessons, we also memorize bible verses in Spanish (there is power in God’s word).

7th and 8th grades are taught a formal Spanish One course. Seventh grade projects include an autobiography. A children’s book is written and illustrated by the eighth grade students and is either donated to our school library or to the mission field. After graduating from Rhema, these students are able to go into Spanish 2 at any high school and are very successful.

Fiestas and having fun are also a vital part of Spanish Class.

ADIOS!
