ACSI Certification
On November 22, 1982, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. He has taken me through the ups and downs of life. I don’t know where I would be without Him in my life! When God opened the door to RCS, I was so excited. I believe I have been called here. It is an honor and a privilege to serve the Lord and these students at Rhema Christian School.
I teach Grades 6 th-8th Language Arts. A formal study of English grammar emphasizing good sentence structure, composition, mechanics, usage, spelling and vocabulary is provided. Students are exposed to a wide variety of literary forms encouraging a lasting appreciation of worthwhile literature and the further training and practice of oral communication skills through classroom speaking assignments and drama. The Accelerated Reader program is used to encourage students of all reading levels to become successful readers. A classroom “store” is held once every nine weeks where students can purchase items based on the number of points they have earned.
Students participate in a variety of competitions including ACSI Speech Meet, ACSI Creative Writing Festival, National Language Olympiad, Readers Digest National Word Power Challenge, and Penn State/Beaver County spelling competition.
