Rhema Christian School

About Rhema

Our History
Rhema Christian School first opened its doors in September, 1980. It began as a ministry of Wildwood Chapel, a non-denominational church in Hopewell Township, PA. Created out of the desire to educate children in a Christ-centered environment, the school quickly became involved in serving the broader church community. In 1986, Rhema Christian School became an independent corporation run by the parents.

Twelve years later the Lord was directing the school to seek a “Home of Our Own.” In 1992 this journey began with the relocation of the school to the Gilmary Center in Findlay Township.

In the Fall of 1996, the Rhema School Board became aware of the availability of the Pleasantview School in the Moon Area School District. A bid was placed for its purchase in January, 1997 and was subsequently accepted by the Moon Area School Board. On May 22, 1997, the final court approval for the purchase of the building was obtained.

Over the summer months many volunteers helped prepare the school for September 2, 1997, the first day of school in our own building.

There are many people to thank. Each played an integral role in the preparations. Our sincere appreciation is extended to our parents, teachers, administrators, staff, grandparents, Promise Keepers men’s groups, and good friends. But most assuredly, all honor, glory, and praise go to our Lord Jesus Christ without whom nothing is possible.
