MRS. ALEX DAVIS – MIDDLE SCHOOL LANGUAGE ARTS
My name is Alex Davis and I am excited to be the Middle School English teacher at Rhema Christian School! I am from Boca Raton, Florida which is in the Southeast part of the state. I attended Westminster Academy in Fort Lauderdale before heading off to Gordon College in Boston, MA. While at Gordon I participated in both varsity Soccer and Swimming and was the Editor for the school newspaper. I received my BA degree in English Language and Literature with a concentration in Creative Writing with a minor in Communication Arts. Upon graduation, I decided to stay at Gordon and continue with my studies obtaining my Master in Education with a concentration in Middle School English. After I finished my student teaching, I moved to Birmingham, AL to teach Middle School English at The Cornerstone Christian Schools of Alabama as well as coach their Men's varsity soccer team.
I have some fun connections with Pittsburgh. My father grew up in the South Hills and my grandparents still reside in Mount Lebanon. I attended Ligonier Camp & Conference Center for many years as a camper and counselor (my father's family has a long history at the camp) and met my eventual husband in 2012 there. He grew up in Ligonier, attended Geneva College and is currently a pilot for the US Air Force Reserve unit based in Pittsburgh. We were recently married and all these events along with God's perfect timing and direction has brought me to Rhema Christian School and I couldn’t be more excited!
I have a passion for working with the middle school age. It is a stage in students’ lives where they need constant encouragement, positive influences and the push to question the world around them through a Christian lens. Teaching is how I can further God’s kingdom and make a difference in this world for Him. I am so excited to serve at Rhema, get to know the wonderful Rhema families and build lasting relationships with students.
