Raising up Godly leaders

God has brought to us a fantastic person to move the early education program at Rhema Christian School forward into the future. Dr. Claudia Bavaro has a PhD in educational leadership and a rich heart for early education. She began as our toddler teacher and now directs the department, using her skills in training teachers and developing staff as well as her creativity in curriculum design. To welcome a fruitful woman of God fully dedicated to the discipleship mission of this school who also has such a rich background in education is a rare gift. Parents, students, and staff will be inspired as they meet with Dr. Bavaro. We all find her approachable, passionate and a great resource for us as we train up our children in God’s purpose for their lives. The interest in early education has exploded, and we anticipate exponential growth. Dr. Bavaro is working to lead and provide an exciting vision and plan for the years to come at Rhema.

We are excited to introduce Claudia to you and are thrilled to consider all that God has for Rhema’s early education program in the future.

Dr. Blackburn strongly believes in allowing the Lord to direct the path she should follow.  She has spent a lot of her life working with children in many capacities such as teaching Sunday School to designing college prep programs for local high schools.  She has earned her PhD in Instructional Leadership and Management from Robert Morris University, focusing her dissertation on Differentiated Instruction based on Learning Styles.  Jeanine feels it is extremely important as an educator to be aware that not all individuals learn the same so we must find a way to reach all students.

In 2019, Dr. Blackburn began her career with Rhema as a substitute teacher.  She then joined Dr. Bavaro by assisting in the Pre-K room.  She is excited this year to be one of the Pre-K teachers and cannot wait to meet her new students.  She is looking forward to building a great learning foundation with them as well as helping them to learn more about the teaching of Christ.  Since one of her favorite subjects is math, she cannot wait to expose her students to some cool techniques to learn math while creating art.

Dr. Blackburn is married to her high school sweetheart Russell, and they reside in Kennedy Township, PA.  They have two children Alyson and Russell III.

Mrs. Bloom is grateful for the opportunity to be part of the early childhood education program here at Rhema. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Education and a concentration in early childhood, Mrs. Bloom taught preschool, kindergarten and second grade. After getting married and having her own children, Mrs. Bloom took time off but stayed active within her children’s school as a volunteer and used her skills to teach children, women’s Bible study and serve alongside her husband, Thomas, as marriage ministry leaders at church.

Now that their children are both in college, Mrs. Bloom is taking this opportunity to return to her first passion, early childhood. She is excited to get to know the families at Rhema. She is looking forward to sharing her love of books, music and nature with the children in her classroom.

Amy graduated Cum Laude from Liberty University with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Political Science in 2004. She has traveled the world with her husband, Dan, who is in the Army. They love to travel and lived in Europe, with Scotland being her favorite place to visit.  Throughout their many duty stations Amy has volunteered with both PWOC and AWANA.

Amy recently taught at the First Learners Preschool in Clarksville, TN. The Hills resided in Clarksville two different times, and Amy was blessed to teach at this preschool both times. The past two years she was lead teacher for the 3 yr old class.

Amy loves to cook, is a genuine "foodie," and is originally from Erie, PA.  She is very happy to be back in Pennsylvania with her husband and her two boys, Titus and Matthew.

Rhema is excited to welcome Mrs. Sheryl Fedako back to her second year as an aide in the Pre-K classroom. Mrs. Fedako has three grandchildren and two attend Rhema; one in 7th grade and one in 2nd grade. Sheryl is happily married with four children. She grew up in Eastern PA, and moved here to spend more time with her grandchildren. In Mrs. Fedako’s free time she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and relaxing. She is very passionate about working with kids and putting her family and God first.

We look forward to our new staff members getting to know Miss Fedako and her bright personality!
