Philosophy of Education
We believe that a distinction of a Christian school should be its God-centered view of man and truth as presented in the Bible. Man was created in the image of God with the capacity to have a personal relationship with God and his fellow man and to take dominion over creation. Man willfully sinned and broke all relationships, resulting in his subsequent sinful nature. In His mercy, God has provided regeneration and restoration through the life, death, and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ. God is the Creator and Sustainer of the universe and is at the core of all life. The universe, being dynamically related to Him, is the expression of His truth; therefore, there is no separation between secular and sacred truth, as all truth is God’s truth.
Goal of Christian Education
We believe that a goal of Christian education is to lead the student into a personal relationship with God and to develop in the student a Biblical perspective of life which is to be applied in godly living. The aim of the educational process is to develop the whole person: spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. It is crucial to help each student discover and develop his unique God-given abilities in order for that individual to fulfill the purposes for which he was created.
Parent’s Responsibility
We believe that God has charged parents with the responsibility to train their children to follow the commandments of God. The Church and the Christian school should work in partnership with parents to help them fulfill this mandate.
The Living Curriculum
We believe that each staff member involved in Christian education is “living curriculum” and therefore should model the principles of God in both words and actions. With the demonstration of the power of the Holy Spirit in the lives of these individuals as examples to follow, the student may be encouraged to become a disciple of Jesus Christ, desiring to live in fellowship with God and his fellow believers, and walking with God through the world which He has created.
